The dealer received my bike and asked if I wanted to be there when they opened the box. I was surprised at the damage to the box, but when they opened it, the bike was ok. I was also surprised that the bike was not enclosed in some sort of plastic. It was covered with an oily substance for I assume rust protection.
My question is regarding the color description label on the box. I expected the color to be CBC or Black Cherry. The color description was "Rogue Red", but the bike's color looks Black Cherry. I've never seen Rogue Red as a color on the Honda site. The vin number on the box matches the bike.
BTW, the build date is 11/04.

I don't know anything about Rogue Red. My CBC bike was supposedly built 1/6/05.
My dealer called me after they put it together so I don't know what was printed on the crate.
I guess as long as your bike is the color you wanted, everything is OK. 8) 8) 8)

color

You will simply LOVE it.

Candy Black Cherry

:? On the back side of the fuel filler door there is a label listing the color of the bike. Should read R287 and perhaps a M for metallic paint.

It seems that Honda has a couple of names for their paint colors. Candy Black Cherry is also listed as "Bloodstone Red" and in Canada it's just "Dark Red". Yours must be a new one.

I can't remember if the color was on the outside of the box or not. Here is my wing coming out of the box if you want to compare.

Candy Black Cherry does scratch up easy. Watch the sides of the tank and Helmets placed on the helmet locks will do a number on the rear fender.

I really like the color though. Seems to change shades under various light conditions.

Hope this helps.

Take care, ride safe.

JMHO

What ever color it's called, labeled, or numbered, it's beautiful. It's beautiful the sun, the shade, in my garage and especially between my legs. Yes, CBC color seems to be a bit delicate. I'm noticing a few scratches, but only if I get very close. Just looking at the bike, you'll never see them, admiring eyes are so mesmerized by the beautiful color, the tiny scratches become invisible, and there's no way zooming down the highway will anyone notice anything but a dark red blur. WindjamerTX, just ride it. Wings don't jam the wind, they part it. Let's Ride! You get 5 smiles. :D :D :D :D :D

Just get on it and ride it. You won't really appreciate the CBC color until you get in out on some sunny days. It is absolutely beautiful :D
Ditto!

I have received more positive comments on the CBC GoldWing than I can count. After having a light (almost white) gold GL1200SEi and a white GL1500SE, the CBC color is a welcome change for me.

Geez, all this talk about riding on sunny days, and there is a winter storm forecast for my area in a couple of days :(.

Rouge is French for red. That's probably why they have it written "Red Rouge" on the crate and of course red is red no matter what shade of red it is.

Here's our CBC and my wife Mary...... just love the color!!! Wait until that first wax job and go park it in the sun and just stand back.....

As for the color name of Rogue Red, I've never heard of it. I have heard of Bloodstone Red as Roadman mentioned. When I went to go get a bottle of touchup paint, to have on hand, the dealers book had no mention of Candy Black Cherry, it was Bloodstone Red.

As for the greasy coating, they will not usually get it all off and my dealer advised to use 'Dawn'....worked great!! Cut right through it all.
:D
