Aero Stich "Combat Light" touring boots. best I have ever had, we have ridden for hours in the rain (hard rain) with never a wet sock. They suggested that you should put them on when you get them and go for a nice long walk to "bend" them in as they are stiff when new. Did that and at first thought my feet would fall off, then after a few blocks they turned into bed room slippers. Super Feet inserts made them even better. Love these boots, will never have anything else.
Thanks for the review on the above boots. Been eyeballing them for quite some time and will probably order a pair. What sole did you get, I believe they have 2 choices.

I got the sole that kind of looks like a file / rasp, very stable in dirt or gravel camp ground parking lots. If you do order a pair, follow their ordering instructions to the letter, these boots are made by Sedi in Switzerland and you need to pay attention to their sizing guide. Also I treat mine every month or so with mink oil, helps keep them wether proof. Enjoy.

Not good PR for CruiserWorks, you'd think they would be more concerned. There will be none in my closet.
This is my biggest surprise! Someone mentioned new owners, and this may be the problem. I simply mentioned my experience and never slammed Cruiserworks, but I have to wonder why they haven't chimed in on this. As an update, I turned my boots into a local shoe repair shop where I've had excellent work done before. They will resole with a Goodyear rubber sole that will never disintegrate. I was also advised to rub Neatsfoot oil into the boots until they won't absorb any more, then set them in the sun for 8 hours. This is supposed to help them mold to my foot. The shoe repair guy also told me that if I wear them more they will mold to my foot over time. I'll ask him about the Neatsfoot oil.

Thanks for all the help and advice.

I have been wearing Cruiserworks for 10 years. The fit was great and very waterproof.. Had them resoled this past year with a little bit stiffer sole which made them in even more comfortable while walking around.

This is close to what I believe happened and my experience with Cruiserworks. I bought my original Cruiserworks at least 10 years ago and the boots were great. I would send them in every few years to have them re-soled for bout 40 bucks. The last time I had that done the soles began to crack and come apart as you described not long after receiving them back. I have a good friend who also experienced the same problem around the same time. He was able to reach them and was informed that they were aware that the soles they began using for their new boots and re-soles were defective. He was lucky and was given new soles that were fine. They did not respond to me when I tried to get mine repaired and heard shortly there after that the company was sold. I finally reached the new owners and they informed me that they were not responsible for the sole problem on the boots sold by the other company but had created a whole new boot using only the best materials and totally guaranteed them. I took a chance and bought a pair. They were not cheap but these new boots are great and are made of the finest materials. They took awhile to break in but I love them. These boots will last for years and I believe are worth the $$. Anyway that is he Cruiserworks story as I know it. I just looked them up and they are still in business.

Sad to hear about Cruiser Works quality. I bought a pair 10 years ago and that's about all I wore riding until 2 years ago when I picked up a pair of Justin (American made, some are Chinese) boots. I remember looking up the site a few years ago for someone and they weren't taking orders, guess that was during the transition. Guess I'll wait to see how the quality issues shake out.

Actually bought the Justin boots because they were also waterproof, very comfortable, and had a thicker sole which was exactly what I needed after I found myself vertically challenged after I bought my Wing.

Disappointed

I am very disappointed in the boots that I had purchased from cruiser works, the top of the boots are great however the soles did not last 1 months of use, the bottom rubber totally fell apart and the heels separated from the bottom of the boot itself, they were suppose to be waterproof but were not. To pay the high price for these boots and then to think they totally failed. To say the least this was the second set of boots that I purchased from these guys and the same thing went wrong with both sets of the boots.

Sad to hear bad about Cruiserworks.I've had a pair for about 10 yrs and love 'em.I bought them at Americade and had a hard time getting the perfect fit because apparently both feet are not the same.Anyway very nice gentleman spent about an hour with me cutting and re-shaping the innersoles until they fit right.Like several have said, the company has changed hands and that's too bad that the original quality and service is not the same. When these wear out, I will definitely look around before investing such a large amount of money in a product that has no backing.

I have two pair of cruiserworks boots one from the old company and one from after the sale. The after the sale pair soles cracked pretty early in use. Cruiserworks would not stand behind the product, I'll be looking elsewhere for my next pair of boots.

Cruiserworks Boots Sole Problems

As stated many times above, there were or still are as I have two pair, very good boots made by Cruiserworks. The originals were made in Canada then the owner moved production down to North Carolina. Those boots had no problems and I am still wearing one pair, 14 yrs old. The company was sold and the boots then made in the Dominican republic, and many if not all of that period had the sole problem mentioned. As recently as a year or so ago the company sold again, and they are the ones now seen advertised as made in the USA. Their customer service could use a shakeup, but the product seems to be Ok in that there doesn't seem to be much negative when a search is done for problems.

The real problem is that the New company wants the name, because great boots were made previously, but doesn't want or know how to handle the situation created by the bad batch made for a short period in the Dominican Republic by the previous company or owners.

Just makes ya wanna run right out and BUY A PAIR, don't it?

Anyone that buys these boot based on their past reputation deserves what they get.

THESE ARE JUNK BOOTS NOW GUYS! :nojoke:

I have a pair of Gor-Tex "Willie G" motorcycle boots, they sit all winter without being worn, there in perfect condition, had them resouled a few years ago to add a little hight in the heel, I would think that if boots are falling apart in just months, cheap material is being used

Boots On Trike

Can still crash and go boom on a trike, several of our members have. Boots are always a good option to be wearing, but like everything in life, to each his own.

I used to ride with tennis shoes/sneakers when I was young, good case of road rash on my ankle showed me the error of my ways. Now I feel nekkid if not wearing boots, helmet and jacket.
I agree with Jerry. I'm ashamed of the crash I had on my trike a few years ago, but my trike up on it's left side sliding down the Jersey wall and super slab at about 50 mph with my foot caught under the head assembly. Trike stopped on top my left leg. ABSOLUTELY no damage to foot, leg or any lower extremity. Very thankful had boots on. Although I slid quite a distance on the superslab, absolutely no road rash any place, thanks to ATGATT. (Though safety equipment did not help my badly fractured seven ribs!)

I am still wearing my original Canadian built Cruiserworks boots - I have had them resoled 3 times - too bad about the current manufacturer with no quality control or whatever the problem is. Guess I will keep what I have!
