I have an F4 +4 on my 2018 Tour. It offers marginally better weather protection over stock. If I do it again, it will be a Madstad.
i have madstad , not happy . so i put back on the f4 w madstad spacers , thats awesome
madstad i could not look over the top without getting blasted ,and too wide causing turbulence

Wow. you're one of a few that have posted negative about the Mad. I bought the f4 20" cause it's scratch proof. i am very ocd about that. I hate having even the smallest microscratches on my helmets visor. Plus it can be cleaned easier. If I have bugs on it, i use a q.d. and it works great. Otherwise, just water. I wanted more protection and especially quieter ride from the oem. The f4 was much better, but on my trips this year at speeds around 75-80, it was noisy. I was thinking I should have bought the 24" but then I don't like the tall look. Almost looks too big for the bike (which is supposed to be sporty looking. I am 5'10 and like to look over. I want as clear of a view as possible. I was thinking of trying the 22mad. to see if it was quieter. Anybody know how the 22"mad. would compare to the 24" f4 as far as noise

I have a Slipstreamer. Will be looking to replace it with something else soon. It has some small chips and scratches. It is wide which has been a positive. I'm thinking F4 or Madstad for the next shield.

Instead of mstrad (which is acrylic (n)) - look at V-Stream and Klockwerks (both are poly like F4)

Try upper wind deflectors. A WS alone often doesn’t eliminate turbulence.

My bike came with a VStream. It sucked. Noisy behind it. Which lead me to seek out the Madstad as I was happy with the one on my 06

I have a 20” klockwerks on my 21 tour. After having an F6B for 5 years and getting used to looking over the windshield I wanted to do that still but improv the wind deflection and it does that. On the interstitial put the screen up to help my sweetheart on the back but otherwise it’s below eye level. FYI, fully down the screen an inch or two taller.

There are several choices out there that provide better wind protection that stock. I'm considering the F4 Customs brand because it has a curved lip at the top and is wider than OEM. I had a similar windshield on my BMW R1200RT and it made a nice difference. The curved lip at the top created a bubble effect by directing the wind over my head. The ride was quieter but at higher speeds it seemed like the wind was pushing pretty hard as it hit that curve at the top.
Same here. I have a 24” Werks with the curve at the top on my 1250RT and a 20” F4 with the curve at the top on my 2018 Wing. I am 6’ even and look over the top of both. They both work equally well!

That sail affect was the wondering BMW syndrome. Ask me how I know.
Good to know, thanks.
I had a F4 20" wide and replaced it with a Madstad. I'm not sure which I like better. I will be doing a ride after ride soon where I change them out for comparison. I will post the results after I do!
This would be great! I'll stay tuned for your review and comments

20" F4 wide light tint here........I really like it mainly because I can run the windshield lower and still maintain good protection.
I like to look over rather than through the windshield.....the light tint adds a classy look to the shield.

This is the one we are thinking of getting also Brian.
Would like to see one in person on the 18+ before I pull the pin on one.

I have the slipstreamer and find it works well for me. Two riding buddies also have it based on my results. Wider than stock, good wind buffetting reduction and less wind across my hands. I have the +2 .

Can I ask how tall you are? I’m considering that same shield to try to reduce helmet buffeting I get from the stock shield. I’m 6’4”, and need to get smoother air over my head. Highway riding is driving me nuts with the stock shield.

Little over 6'. (Shrunk a few inches with age 😪). It reduced buffetting for my wife also (5'9"). This is a relatively inexpensive shield, does real well when you consider the price. I've had mine since 2020, still like it.

The very first thing I replaced when I bought my 2018 Tour was the windshield . I went with a F4+2 and I love it. The last 5 wings (including a 2016 F6B) I went with the +2 . The protection was a little better than stock, but the main thing that sells me on the F4 is you can clean it with practically anything.
