I see alot of threads related to pairing.

I just paired my Android Phone, Samsung S22, to the Bike.
I already had paired my Android Phone, Samsung S22, to my Sena 20s
I just paired my Sena 20s to the bike.
I play music from a usb drive.

What are the problems that other folks are having ? Is it only related to Android Auto/Apple Care Play ?

Thanks !

I think you should pair the Sena units to the bike only. Not both phone and bike. I just went through this with Cardo and I Phone. The music plays well from thumb drive, phone calls work and intercom(Mesh) is working. I turn on the bike power, and wait a minute to boot. Then turn on the headsets......link every time.

Not sure about Android and Sena being the same.

You don't pair your phone to the Sena S20..only pair the phone to the bike...pair the S20 to the bike
I'm not sure about Android phones because I don't have one, but with Apple phones, you don't pair them to anything, you simply plug them into the connector in the glovebox. The phone is not paired to the bike or the headset. All the data/music from the phone is passed through the wired connection.

But if you don't pair the phone to the bike then you can't use the phone thru the bike unless you are plugged in and using Apple Car Play or Android Auto...most of the time I don't plug my phone into the bike and I don't use Android Auto....with the phone paired to the bike I can use my phone while listening to my iPod or radio for example

I think Fred is right. I have an S22 and phone is chained to the USB cord. My headset is the only thing paired. Apple maybe solid as a rock but I find android is hit and miss for autoplay. Phone calls works fine. I know there are bluetooth devices out there to channel thru but then charging becomes an issue.

Wow !! Lots going on here. I havent gotten phone calls yet while on the bike. Its ride night tonight. What Ill do is get one of the guys to call and text me while I have "my set up" "on". Then let you know if I have any issues. I should be able to have the Sena app running and use voice commands to make calls at least to the contacts I have set up in the Sena app.

The last test I suppose would be to see if I can make a call using the bikes electronics to saved contacts. Not sure that is possible yet. Havent gotten through the entire owners manual yet.

This is a 2023 and I have read that there are software updates for 23 that are supposed to enhance/fix some of the common issues Ive read about.

That update applies to all 2018+ Wings. It includes updated maps and a complete reload of the audio/navigation computer firmware.

Almost all the comms issues having nothing to do with the Wing's audio navigation computer firmware. Most have to do with either how the phone, Wing, and headset are set up together or the order that the three things start up.

I have 2 helmets with each a Sena SRL2 headsets for me (driver) and my wife has a Sena S20evo.
The S20evo always pairs with the GW, when switching on. Never any connection errors.

With my SRL2 however (both!), it is a 50% chance that when powering on they auto-connect, the other 50% I have to manually "connect". Tried everything (different order, different timing, even all the forum "hacks"...) there is no pattern when it connects and when not.
I have the impression it is better to switch first the headset on then the GW, but not sure about that.
Once connected, the connection is very stable.
I also have the mobile paired with the GW so it is connected either via BT or via USB using ACP (then BT-mobile pairing automagically switches off - this was not the case with older GW firmware, in case you're not running the latest update)

Why disconnect mobile-headset pairing? Because all the funny kind of issues can happen, such as mobile is not connecting with GW, or the GW is not connecting to the headset etc.

Bluetoothing your phone would be for calls not autoplay. Bluetooth only has a one to one connection but it dosen't block other connections its paired to so its constantly polling/switching between radio/phone/and other helmet causing crap performance. Thats why on our bike its a sequence. Bike on/driver helmet on first/ passenger. Took awhile for me to figure that out. Less devices the bike see's the better. I love talking to scammers while i'm riding but if your listen to music on the phone it will automatically switch when a call comes it. Text dosn't seem fluid. I only have headsets toothed to the bike.

Sorry just getting back to this. Just got done with a network change. Now I can do the fun tech day. Raining here in NC. Maybe get out for a ride tomorrow.

So ill be looking at Samsung stuff ..

It seems to me that the problem REALLY comes in with the use of Android Auto. I cautiously presume based on comments here and in other data sources.

I still have tweeking to do. But once I know what I do have set up is working how I want it to, I intend to load Android auto and see what's cooking. But .. I dont use Android auto.

The fact of that matter is I get enough of that stuff during the day. At the end of the day .. I dont even want to use the sensor to wash my hands 😁

Android Auto requires both wired as Bluetooth connection. The Bluetooth Connection is for the phone calls only. The wired connection is for everything else. Wireless Android Auto works over Bluetooth AND Wifi Direct.
You can disable Bluetooth on your phone and Goldwing. But as soon as you connect your phone to the fist USB connector. Bluetooth will be enable on both your phone and Goldwing. There is nothing you can do about it.
