Strange, my 2004 Durango Red paint was never a problem
My 2012 Pearl White is the best paint jobs of any the other bikes I've owned. Honda did have problems with some paints, but I believe it was the Matte colors.
I agree that none of the colors stand out like the HD's. They have remarkable paint jobs and beautiful colors. But that's about the extent of it.

For sure. look at Indian's colors and paint job. Puts Honda's in the pocket. You can't have everything perfect, I am guessing.

I LOVE black Wings. Especially charcoal or matte black. Fingers crossed for a 2025 / my 2018 Blue trade in.

I love my 2009 "metallic blue" aka Caribbean blue limited availability color.

Stallion brown & Ultra Blue metallic were the two nicest colors on recent models. I looked all over for a blue '22, but none were to be found, so I got a red/black '21.

My 2013 was that blue … I liked it and thought it was awesome. I could do that Stallion Brown.
The Stallion Brown was on the first Goldwing I saw in 2018, but was told it wasn't available on the Tour DCT, so Ardent Red it is.

My 2003 Candy Orange wing had very nice paint..15 years old when I traded it in and it still looked new like..my 2018 Pearl White paint is also very nice..no defects and the metal flake just pops in the sun.
I've always heard over the years about HD great paint jobs and the ones I've really looked at have had nice paint on the fuel tanks..but the front fenders back section had quite a bit of orange peel in the paint...and I've seen quite a few HD fuel tanks with spider web marks in the dark paint...so the paint isn't as hard as the internet reputation says it is..I'm not knocking HD either, it's just what I've seen with my own eyes over the years..and speaking of paint quialty, one of the best paint jobs I've seen is on my Bushtec trailer...Bushtec matched my 2003 Candy Orange wing perfectly and the paint is show quialty..Bushtec sure could do excellent paint jobs.

I'm betting it's going to happen. Sometime. In the future...

I'm 99% sure Honda is not listening, BUT they could increase revenues by opening up a "Custom" platform allowing customer to choose paint, accents from the factory and non-OEM accessories installed by the dealer. Of course, this would all some at a moderate price, but the consumer is conditioned to pay more for color options, visit any car manufactures web site and most color options other than white or black cost extra.

They could also take this an additional step and add a Performance shop with Suspension/Engine/Brake/Lighting upgrades, imagine if they got Ohlins and Brembo on board, consumers love options and while I adore Hondas reputation for keeping trim levels simple for the bikes and automotive industry, maybe it's time for a change !!!

Disagree.....
Look at the 2001 - 2017 GL1800, they offered some unique colors......

Hot Rod Yellow
Illusion Red
Illusion Blue
Sunburst Orange
Pearl Brown
Black Cherry
Topeka Gold
Various shades of silver

2018+ models explore northing of the sorts.......
That Pearl Brown, freaking gorgeous

That's how Mini has built their car since 2002 you can go in do exactly what you want and it'll be in the US in about 6 to 8 weeks crazy enough
