I hope to be soon purchasing an 08 but have doubts about purchasing the comfort package. Although I would like to get her loaded up I am thinking that I will want to go with an Ultimate seat and then what about the heated stocker. Out the window right? Living in Florida also would limit the use anyway. For the price difference between the premium audio and the comfort, seems I could add the aftermarket seats and gps anyway. Any comments would be appreciated.
Are the stock seats comfortable. I have a vtx and the seat was unbearable.

Once you go above the premium audio, all packages include the comfort package (heated seat, grips and toe warmers). The audio with comfort package hasn't been available since mid-model year 2006.

So basically, if you want NAV, ABS or Airbag, you're going to get the comfort package.

If you go with the ultimate seat, no heat. If you choose Russell DayLong or Corbin, then you can have the heated seat as an option and it will integrate with the stock controls.

Is the stock seat comfortable? For me is wasn't. But then I'm 6'8", 270lbs. I know a number of people that run the stock seat and are very happy. It all depends on your build.

I always thought it was pretty pissy to make you guys in the Sunshine State and other warm areas to buy the comfort features to get to the ABS. But my thinging is this, I just ain't gonna have a Wing without ABS so if I have to buy the other stuff then so be it. My next will be an airbag.

Also I have found that the onboard Navi works just fine for my purpose. I also like the heated grips. Wife loves the seat, however I don't notice it much.

I have an 06 with the comfort package. I have used the heated grips a few times this winter. Have not used the heated seat yet. The seat is not that comfortable to me, but everyone's butt is different. I fixed mine with the Wa Mart gel seat cousion. Now I have no problem with comfort. If you don't ride in weather less than 50 deg then the comfort package probably would not be worth the extra cost.

I have the Comfort package on my 07. I can tell you the heated grips, heated seat, toe warmers all work great! You may not use them as often in FLA as I do up here but when you do ending up using them, you will be glad you bought the Comfort package. The GPS is hooked up to the bike with all controls at you finger tips and In my opinion I like it better than a unit attached to the handle bars. The seat....is awesome!!!! I would go for the Comfort Package, again this is my opinion...I hope it helps

+1 and as stated ABS ABS ABS you can't beat it!

I have the comfort and now ride when it's 20 degrees colder than I did before. The older you get, the more you appreciate having such things. No problems with any of it so far.

If your SO has any say in it, the seat will be appreciated - by her at least!

You wouldn't think living in AZ you'd need the heated seat, either, but you do...and it works well, as do the heated grips!

My big ol' butt broke mine in fairly quickly...the addition of a back rest helped in that regard as well - not my butt that hurts but my lower back on those long rides.

Luck to ya in your search!

You probably won't use the comfort features as often as some of our northern brothers, but you will use it in Florida. More to the point, I have used mine several times in Florida. Bike week and occasional winter trips have taught me that even though it might get into the '80s at midday, late at night it is cold and damp. Nice to be able to open the foot warmers and turn on the grips and seat in that situation.

I have an '06 with comfort/nav. I'm 6'5" and 225. The SO is 6'0" and ??.

For us, the seat is unbearable. I've installed a Blacksheep genuine sheepskin cover (including Utopia backrest) that makes the seat somewhat more comfortable but my knees are still against the plastic.

I'll be installing an aftermarket seat, the Wingsoft Large from bikesolutionsllc.com, when I head west to Spring Branch to see Tom Finch and pick up my Tailwind trailer. Planning on stopping in Austin at the Bike Solutions shop to "test fit" the available seats and see what works for us.

Living in Houston, I use the seat and grip heaters on occasion. Sure is nice to have when you need it, like yesterday when it was down to 65. And, we're planning trips into colder areas so those options will come in handy. The seat heater IS NOT very effective through the sheepskin although I really don't need it BECAUSE of the sheepskin; warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer.

Depending on what seat we get, I may just have the sheepskin cover for sale later, I'll post it on the board if I decide to get rid of it.

If I had it to do again (and on my next Wing I WILL) I'd DEFINITELY opt for ABS and airbag.

Hope this helps!!
