I just got my bike back on Feb 6th from having the ECM upgrade. It lasted 300 miles and required a Tow Buster call to deliver it to the Honda Shop. Stopped for gas and the bike had no power. When it got to the Honda Shop it would not start at all; however, when they put another new ECM in, it worked just fine. The original ECM had ~ 49,000 mile on it. Hind sight is 20/20. I would probably have been better off putting up with the over heating instead of this. To make matters worse, the towing company cracked my front fender while loading the bike. They are going to replace it.

Dang Bob. I can imagine how discouraging that must be. Just remember, not everything is perfect. You can go to Autozone, buy a brand new electronic anything, and get a bad one. You just got unlucky. This is the first I've heard about a replacement ECM going bad like that. I hope there isn't very many of them. I still need to get mine replaced. Maybe this spring sometime.
