The reason in my opinion why you guys are stating what you are is natural.
You are going from a much wider tire 195 to a 175 which is much narrower,So if you think about it,The flickability (is that a word?) increases dramatically with the 175..For me I'd rather have the wider griping tread contact patch...

It's noted here that I'm quite happy with the wider 195 and that I've also tried the winter compound on my own bike and found what I needed to know.

I have no issue flicking my 195 in any situation.we all like different things and have adjusted to what feels best for each of us..
I've done some past experimenting and came back to what I like for me..I like to see others do the same thing as with this 175..
The only way you'll know what you like is to try it for yourself just like so many have done trying different brands of MT's before becoming a Darksider...

I tend to agree with you--ever so slightly. Because, I always thought the problem here is that the 180 OEM is too small of a tire for touring on the Wingabego. I searched high and low on the possibility of a 200 on the rear and every-single-person who tried have super negative reports...

...along come the 195 runflat...more footing...

However, tomfranken makes a point that the 175 still has plenty more footprint than any OEM....
I'd agree with Tom on this point as well, because of it being a CT..

and on the lean, I have not heard a good viable perspective between the 195 vs the 175 footprint.
I don't think you'd be able to notice a difference betewwn the two..

what scares me is the higher rpm with an even shorter tire...there is no doubt in my mind that the 70 OEM makes the gear ratio the way it is supposed to be. the 60s are already too short for this gearing set up.
I agree that the stock 60 is to small in OD..But some who use it say the bike handles different than the 60?? I've never tried one,so I don't know that one either?? you have haven't you-What did you think of the bikes handling??

I think that is what some were trying to achive when they tried the 205 tire trying to correct the speedo error..
Don't get me wrong here,I'm not picking on any tire..I was just thinking that a narrower tire would need less counter steer from L to R turns..
That's why I said this above.

I like to see others do the same thing as with this 175..

Biggles, there is info somewhere on the rim width for either the 175 or 195mm tire and I believe we are well within the range. Cheers...:doorag:

Stick..after reading your above post(s) I too agree that any CT is far much better than the stock tire..

All I was wondering was if the narrower 175 made it easier or similar to the steering inputs as the stock tire vs the 195 being the wider of them all..Nando misread my asking or the terminology in my thoughts..

In other words, does the 175 feel that way due to it being narrower taking less time to transition from say the right edge to the flat part to the left edge of the tread going left to right in the twistys. That is all I was wondering..

Don't make me draw pictures for you-you won't like my pictures!:22yikes:
ROTFLMAO

I've looked at most if not all of the CT video's,and quite frankly my arse tells me more than any video would want me to believe if I had to make a judgment called based on one of those videos...lol

And, I will be able to argue with Rocky--the best part!

Nando nand nando..Rocky doesn't care what anybody uses. You bought the bike put whatever floats your boat on it my friend...
I'd suggest you "go for it"..It's the only way your going to answer the nagging question you have..

I tried a few brands and so should everyone else to know what is and isn't good for them too...

I like what I'm using now and that's all the info I need..
