Hello, all.

I've just returned from a 9-day tour on a brand new '19 DCT Tour Gold Wing, and thought I'd post the real world fuel consumption for the bike, for those (few) of us who are obsessed with fuel economy stats as one metric for vehicle performance. :)

My tour started in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and we rode south to Klamath Falls, Oregon, and returned to Edmonton.

So:

Total distance ridden: 4,285 km/2,663 miles
Total unleaded regular fuel used: 211.139 litres/46.44 Imp gal/55.78 U.S. gal
Average fuel consumption: 4.92l/100km/57.4 Imp MPG/47.8 U.S. MPG
Best fuel consumption: 4.7l/100km/60.1 Imp MPG/50.0 U.S. MPG
Worst fuel consumption: 5.45l/100km/51.8 Imp MPG/43.1 U.S. MPG

Notes:

1. The above are actual fuel consumption numbers, calculated using Road Trip mobile phone app
2. Riding conditions were primarily hot, dry weather, 30-32 C temperatures
3. Riding pace was 'spirited' sport-touring, riding with BMW and Wing friends, usually 10-15 kph over the posted speed limit (our group of 4 had a nice 'chat' with a Deputy Sheriff in Washington State.) :)
4. 80-percent + distance ridden on 2-lane, twisty, secondary highways
5. The '19 Wing was new, with only 350 km on the odometer when I departed

Hope some of you find this real world data usedul.

Tim
