195mm on a Gl1500..Pics

A friend just pulled in my driveway with a 195mm General NRF on his 1500 GW bike..... Had to take a pic... I don't know if you can see the curve on the sidewall... It's pretty radical.... He says it works well.... Told him I had a new 175mm I would sell him.. However, he had just mounted the tire.... He's running it at 51 pounds....I took note that it was almost flat across the tread inspite of the pressure and the narrow rim... Cheers:doorag:

I know my General G-Max is a 51psi tire. Don't don't believe I would run it there. Just sayin'!

My 2 cents: As long as the bike is ridden somewhat sedately around town, it may serve him well.

I, too, would be a little leery of the 51 psi. I'm guessing the sidewalls are not very sturdy at all.

Another prime example of saving 50-60 bucks and in return getting a tire that barely works and is less-safe. A 175-60 RF would have worked really well on that 1500.

His bike, his butt, his choice.

WOW - Wide Load

Wedging a 195 in there must've been a treat...

I have a 175 - 75 on and it went in pretty well..I would guess a 185 would fit too..but 195 on a 1500 rim....yikes...

Do you know the aspect ratio(series)?...My 175-75 is as tall as one can go and still fit OKAY...But most 175-60's are shorter than the OEM and the RPM's go up a little bit....

Just gathering as much INFO as I can for us 1500 riders......
