We bought our 2022 last month and I just rolled 1,000mi (woohoo!)
We're still making adjustments to make it as comfortable as possible for both of us.
The stock windscreen was... sporty-looking. But not terribly over-protective. I was getting a fair amount of wind on my arms and some head-bobble and my wife was getting beat up. I bought a new windscreen literally on day one. I went with the MadStad 20" based on cost and reviews. You know, the one that has the extra spaces that moves the windscreen off the original mounts by about 1.25" - looks a little "off" at first.. but you get used to it.
Well.. I'm sitting pretty now. No real complaints, well protected. I have the slightest breeze on my elbows at times and the my face has some circulating air, but I don't think its affecting the microphone on the headset (that'll be another post).
My wife.. she's still taking a lot of wind. We're trying to locate the source/trail of it and see if we can do something more to push it off her. I feel wind actually coming from behind me and wrapping around my helmet. She has this pocket of "burbling" air between us that seems to be triggering the mic a lot and she "hears" a lot of wind. I'm still trying to learn if this is just a loud helmet (new LS2 Verso's) or mic triggers. (if anything interrupts her audio book, its a call to Houston 😅 )
So.. QUESTION(S)..
What can I do you get more air around/past her?
What's your 2-up setup look like?
I'm about ready to pull the trigger on the Kuryakyn lowers to see if they might help some.. but wanted to know if anyone LOVES their windscreen and knows its better for their passenger.
Thoughts on the F4 Customs windscreen??
Are you running lowers also?
Something off the mirrors?
Thanks.
