I need the retaining clip used to hold the headlight bulb in place on a 2001 GL1800. I have been told that this is the same part, 2001-2017. It cannot be purchased new except as part of an assembly. I lost it down in the bodywork somewhere and don't care to strip the machine down to the frame looking for it. I have attached a jpg.

If anybody has one, I will be glad to make a deal with you. Please contact me either here, or use the following:

Thanks for the suggestion. I had looked at the clips available on Amazon and I don't see one that could be used without alteration. As you might be aware, you have to be a contortionist to work on these things, and I don't know if I can get one of those modified correctly. As a last resort I will try this, but I keep hoping somebody salvaged some of these off a busted headlight.

Ever thought of getting a bore scope? Sure it's a few dollars, but if you can find your clip, you're good to go, plus you've got a bore scope if anything like this happens again...

Actually I tried that, but was not successful. I've used the bike since I lost the clip, so I don't know if the thing shook out on the road, but probably is still there. The only option I have (I think) to retrieve it is to start pulling tupperware off.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Uncle John: Thanks so much. Please let me know what I owe you.

The one missing on my ride is on the far right as you sit the bike. I think this is the RH bright light. I think the clips are all the same.

With my luck, I would find it in the rear tire, when it goes flat!!
