My battery is 6 years old and has been run down a few times due to leaving heated gloves turned on. Lately it has had an occasional miss. I rode it 15 miles yesterday and this morning it had 12.5 volts at the battery and less than 12 at the Honda voltmeter on the right side of the fairing. When running it has 14.7 volts at the battery and a little over 14 volts at the voltmeter. Iam hopeing it is something other than mouse wireing damage. I trap and bait for mice all the time. Any suggestions for what to check for. I use stabil in the gas and have filled the tank 2 times so far this year.

Bad batteries can cause a myriad of problems that you might not think was related to them. Past experience have shown me that merely swapping out the battery with a new one would cause the previous problem to disappear.

You didn't mention if the battery was the original or not, but if so, count your blessing that it has lasted 8 years.
