Hello All,
I am in the process of completing a custom cargo trailer that I designed and build to tow behind my 2008 Goldwing. The question I have is the wiring setup for the trailer itself. I have installed a U-haul 5 to 4 wire converter for the four pin flat connector for the trailer. Now to the question... The trailer is set up with two brake lights and left and right turn signals plus side marker running lights. How do I wire up the signal lights separate from the brake lights and have the brake and signal lights also be running lights? Thanks, Dave

Take the converter out. Your wing is wired for a 5 wire set-up (brake, tail, left turn, right turn, ground) and so is your trailer (if I read the post right).

You should have 5 wires running into the converter, and 4 coming out. Just splice in the 5 wire connector coming from the trailer in front of the converter.
