A riding buddy has a 2008 with nav. And wants to us a thumb drive for music using the 3.5 mm wire. That is under the left pocket. He said the 3.5 mm is a male plug, so I guess we would have to find an adapter to go from that a usb . thanks in advance alton .

Nope... get an iPod or something like that. Now I say that to say this, there are some after market devices that will accept a Thumb Drive (stick) plugged in that will work. But IMOP an iPod is the way to go.

The AUX port in the left pocket can only accept an AUDIO input. Even if you made an adapter, plugging in a USB drive to it would be useless.

The 2012-2014 bikes have a USB port in the trunk that can be used to plug an Ipod into so you can control it through the menu system, and it can also accept a USB flash drive.

I have an MP3 player that plugs into the CD Player system and uses the CD controls to operate. Works really good. For me that's the way to go. :yes1:
