How do I remove the lower trunk panels on a 2012 1800?
I removed the 3 screws on the inside of the trunk, but the service manual (looked it up at the dealer) says to release the clip and three tabs from the trunk and slide the trunk lower cover rearward while releasing the two tabs.
I don't see a clip or tabs to release.
I need to run a wire from under the trunk to the lights on the trunk.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you've ever removed the black side covers (i.e. oil filler line), you'll notice the prongs on the covers that go into the rubber grommits. The lower trunk sections have the same type of prongs that go into the base of the trunk immediately above the saddle bag latches. With the three screws removed from inside the trunk, slide the lower trunk cover back a little so that it disengages from the back of the seat (work one side at a time). Pull the side cover back a little more so there's a small gap above the latches. Use a small straight screwdriver to gently pry the rear par tof the cover off (pull the prongs out).

I know it sounds complicated but once you see it removed, it'll make more sense...
