CAUTION- DON'T GET A TICKET: By happenstance, after passing a speed trap, I decided to check speedometer accuracy on my new 2012 GL1800 by comparing it to the speed indicated on my Garmin 376C. The 2012 Speedometer is now perfectly accurate. If it says 65mph, you're doing 65mph (unlike my 2003 that read about 5mph too high)

Same with the 09' and 10's.

Yup. Not long after I got my 2010 I checked my speedo from 30 to 80 mph in 5 mph increments with my hand held GPS and it was spot on at all speeds. I was borderline astounded.

I checked mine against the Zumo 550 and found the speedo very accurate.

The first Honda I ever had that was accurate was an ST1100 Police version. I just assumed they did the police bikes right.

I traded that bike for the 2012 Wing and was surprised to find the Wing extremely accurate as well.

My remaining ST1100 is nearly 10% off. I don't ride it without a Garmin unit to keep track of my speed.

as a comparison, what is the rpm on a 2012 when at 60mph indicated on the speedo? on my older wing it is 2500 in 5th gear and 3000 in 4th gear at 60 mph

strange

The speedometer is dead on....checked it with GPS at different speeds from 20 up to 75... The strange / weird part is that the odometer is off.... I would like to know if anyone else has checked theirs... today we rode 268 miles according to GPS....my odometer shows 278. Please post your results....just curious about the other ones.

My wife and I rode 280 miles by the gps yesterday. The bike odometer shows 290 miles. We have about 2000 miles on the rear tire.
