I'm having a Rivco hitch installed. I have a Goldstrike distribution block. Since they already have 5 wires ready to go for the trailer .
What have you used for wiring & plug? Did you use your own wiring to the hitch? What brand / style plug did you use?
I'm not doing the work myself, just want to get the correct items for the mechanic doing the work.
He's very good , but not been helpful in advance planing.
If you don't use the Goldstrike distribution block, please don't respond. I'm not interested in what plug the trailer has I know I can change.

Thanks for all the help.

22Wingman,
I use the Pathfinder PAH60 (which as noted in a post or two, "could" be having issues) for the isolation/distribution of all additional wiring. As for the wires TO the trailer plug, I simply purchased a 10' long five wire harness with both ends on it from Amazon. This is not rocket science. You simply need 4 or 5 wires to go down to that plug from your distribution hub. Then wire the trailer applicably. I think that 10' trailer harness was about $10 or so.

On edit: It was actually a 25' harness

Depends on the trailer which plug. My Mini-Mate used 5 wire plug, my Bushtec uses 6 wires. Some trailers use 4 wires if they don't have separate amber turn signals.

The Goldstrike distribution block is wired with 5 wires for a trailer. My mechinic ran wires and used a
6 pin plug wired to match the trailer I would buy. We just used the 5 wires. The seller sent a wiring diagram. For some reason someone changed the 5 pin plug on the trailer to 6. Everything works as it should & I have a Hannigan trailer.
