But, I don't think any Goldwing owner interpreted it as 1 update in 3-years.......just sayin.
....and I doubt we'd of gotten that if people didn't complain to Honda.

It's nice to have in a pinch, but I very seldom use the OEM NAV anyways, much better/current options available.

You can't update the EU version with the America's Map

In Europe these updates are done by your Honda dealer.

I get along well with the built-in gps - i could use ACP, but i have no reason yet just for navigation.

I plan my routes with kurviger.de and upload it with an USB stick, or for a quick with 'not so much waypoints' i do that directly with the internals interface - no problems at all to me.

So what am I doing wrong. I downloaded the file from Honda (3 times) Did a format on 3 different usb drives.
2 new and one old. Followed the instructions on the Honda website. I had NO problems last time I did an update on my 2018 tour. I put the bike in ACC and it goes through its normal startup and never sees the usb. ???
This is what is inside the iso file if anyone is interested. Maybe its just too darn cold in the garage.

Fred mentioned in post 41 that it sometimes takes a minute to recognize the file on the USB. Did you give it enough time?

So, dumb question for you: Do you plug the drive BEFORE you turn the ACC on? Please check your USB cord on the bike. No damage visible? Apple CP works good?
Also, do you choose NFTS file?

Yes I plugged it in first. Android auto works fine with the plug. I didn't have any problems with the last update.
I followed the instructions as provided by Honda. After 4 tries with windows I tried using blenaEtcher utility to copy the iso. No joy. The bike doesn't seem to see the usb. Just a note...my warranty ran out last month.

IMO, if its not critical to update, let it be. Otherwise, Honda will charge you nicely for diag. charge.

I know everyone said it just a map update but it sure fixed my headset connect issue. I bought the sena 50S last year and to use carplay I would have to turn on the bike then the headset and then if I plugged in the phone it would pop up disconnected because of no headset. I would have to unplug the phone turn off the headset and then turn it on again and then plug in the phone and always worken the second time. Yesterday and today it connected on the first try. maybe the reload cleared up a problem. Never had the issue with the 20evo.

Make sure you first format the USB drive to NTFS. Once done, drag the ISO to the thumbdrive - and do NOT change the file name. With the Bike OFF, plug in the thumbdrive to USB1 - The one in the cubby or in the trunk. Once connected, turn the on switch twice to go straight to ACC. WAIT up to 5 minutes for the screen to ask to update. Hit OK, then make sure the process starts, put the FOB on the seat and walk away. Check on it every 15 minutes.

Likely your file viewer is set to hide file extensions. In windows File explorer you can choose the View tab and click on the "File name extensions" box.

I did tripple checked the instructions and did the following as suggested :

I did this several times and it does not see the usb. I tried several usbs and did not use quick format. File reads fine on the usb on my computer the bike just does not see it.
