I'd just get a new USB drive then. Some older drives might have issues. I used a new Ultra 3.0 drive this time and it was lightning fast. I recall the first update last year took forever and took a couple of tries.

I did tripple checked the instructions and did the following as suggested :
"Make sure you first format the USB drive to NTFS. Once down, drag the ISO to the thumbdrive - and do NOT change the file name. With the Bike OFF, plug in the thumbdrive to USB1 - The one in the cubby or in the truck. Once connected, turn the on switch twice to go straight to ACC. WAIT up to 5 minutes for the screen to as to update. Hit OK, then make sur the process starts, put the FOB on the seat and walk away. Check on it every 15 minutes. "
I did this several times and it does not see the usb. I tried several usbs and did not use quick format. File reads fine on the usb on my computer the bike just does not see it.
Done! Thanks everyone.

I have had some devices that would not read a properly formatted drive that was formatted with my PC... my solution was to download a free file formatter and format the drive with it. In my case it was FAT32. I have no clue why the device (dash cam) would not see the drive when formatted by the PC.

I also updated mine with zero issues.......took about 40-minutes to complete.
There is more to it than just map updates......the (9) modules installed mentioned something about Bluetooth, XM, Navi, system and others.
Wish I would have wrote them down.

Hopefully it makes the Helmet BT & CarPlay connection more stable....

Just did mine and noticed the same thing starting with BTHeadset. I was thinking the same thing. It would be nice to not have to do the voodoo dance when starting up.

When it got done I turned it off and got my helmet. I turned the bike to acc then immediately my headset and it connected pretty fast. Hopefully it wasn't a fluke.🤞

When I download the update it shows up as SWDL and seems to not be downloading as SWDL.ISO anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?
If you're on Win10 or any other Windows version you probably have a setting enabled by default that hides extensions of known file types. So this is the iso just hiding it. If you right click and go to properties it may show the full file name.

oooops this was already answered!!!

It looks like NO update for me....I have tried old usb, new usb, green usb, red usb, white usb. Downloaded the iso file 6 times on 2 different computers. Formatted on 2 different computers using windows 10 and utiltiy program.
Followed the procedure to a T. Let it sit from 5 min to an hour. I have tried 6 different usb and the procedure at least 20 times. Tried everything but swinging a dead cat over my head....darn neighbor cat is just to fast. I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but I made a good living as a Broadcast/IT engineer so I know a little about computers. I did the last update with no problem...The bike just does not see the usb. My Samsung works with Android auto just fine. Looks like the bike has a problem....(warranty expired last month)
Oh well I guess I just keep using google maps..

With the last update I had a problem getting it to work. I discovered I still had the previous update which I downloaded to my computer and which had the same file name. This caused the new download to be named the same but with a (2) added to the end. Which made it unfindable by the bike when the USB drive was plugged in. When I deleted the (2), everything worked fine.

I just did the update. The map has definitely been updated in the Phoenix area because now there are freeways shown on the map that weren't shown before.
Updated my 2020 Tour yesterday. Nav still does not display half the roads around here that show up clearly on the Garmin Zumo XT. Maybe it's just the frenetic pace of new construction in Florida. Sure. Of course. That's it.

Just a wild guess here......
Some people have both USB ports in use.....I do, I use main port for my iPhone Apple CarPlay and the other I have a USB stick with music on it, located in the trunk.

Are you sure you are connecting it to the main USB port of the audio unit?
I don't think the update will work on the 2nd port.

I had issues with the Goldwing finding USB as well. When I downloaded the file, my Windows10 PC showed the file as "swdl(1)". After 3 attempts with the Goldwing, I put the jump drive back into pc and removed the (1) from the file name. Tried again and Goldwing found the file within a minute.

Where are you located? Maybe someone near you has the update downloaded that worked on their bike and they can try to do it on your bike?

For those who's bike won't recognize the USB, try putting an mp3 music file on it with nothing else. If it plays, it's not a problem with the bike being able to read from the USB. Then try putting the update and the mp3 on the stick and see if that works.

OK!!! Time for me to admit my ignorance of all things computer! I have attempted to follow the directions to upgrade the Nav on my 2018 Tour and have failed numerous times. This last attempt has created a NEW issue on the bike which has me completely stumped. I thought I had finally successfully copied the download to the flash drive and followed the directions inserting the drive into the USB port on the bike. A message appears reading: USB SWDL MODE..PLEASE WAIT RECOGNIZE ISO DISK. Next message: USB SWDL MODE..ERROR: COULD NOT LOCATE UPDATE ISO IMAGE. And now I have 5 flashing squares in the gear indicator window! I unplugged the flash drive but the above messages repeated over and over. I turned the bike off, and started the bike to see if these massages would disappear but they continue to repeat even with the flash drive removed. No matter how many times I turn the bike off and restart the same messages and flashing squares appear. As soon as I get this new issue resolved I'm going next door and ask the ten year old kid for some help with downloading the update!!! HELP PLEASE!! TIA

Hope you didn’t brick your nav/audio module. Unless you don’t already have the update that had android auto I wouldn’t even fool with this latest update.
