OK!!! Time for me to admit my ignorance of all things computer! I have attempted to follow the directions to upgrade the Nav on my 2018 Tour and have failed numerous times. This last attempt has created a NEW issue on the bike which has me completely stumped. I thought I had finally successfully copied the download to the flash drive and followed the directions inserting the drive into the USB port on the bike. A message appears reading: USB SWDL MODE..PLEASE WAIT RECOGNIZE ISO DISK. Next message: USB SWDL MODE..ERROR: COULD NOT LOCATE UPDATE ISO IMAGE. And now I have 5 flashing squares in the gear indicator window! I unplugged the flash drive but the above messages repeated over and over. I turned the bike off, and started the bike to see if these massages would disappear but they continue to repeat even with the flash drive removed. No matter how many times I turn the bike off and restart the same messages and flashing squares appear. As soon as I get this new issue resolved I'm going next door and ask the ten year old kid for some help with downloading the update!!! HELP PLEASE!! TIA
You may need to either clear the fault codes stored in memory, or ride the bike for a while to clear them out. Also, check your battery, you may have run the battery down trying to load the update.

I'll take the bike out for a ride to see if that will help. It may be time for a new battery but I didnt run it down. The bike was hooked up to a battery tender the entire time.

After today I am sure there is a bluetooth update. My 50S and iphone carplay will connect in any order. I almost always had to restart my headset twice for carplay to connect. I even plugged in the phone then turned on the headset and then the bike even in that order carplay connected.

God I hope you’re correct. That would be one simple thing that would make everyone’s life easier.
Get rid of the “cannot start CarPlay because of disconnected headset” or whatever it says if you don’t wait long enough.

I agree.....
Can't ride yet here in Minnesota, but I've done some testing in my garage and it connects to Apple CarPlay and my helmet (Sena 50S) every single time.......
See how it goes when I can start riding, but it sure looks positive so far. (y)

The Honda navigation is fantastic if this was 2002. The gps/Nav may be good for around town but is utterly useless IMO. Great bike with a few flaws like the seat and the GPS. The Nav system is kind of like a Volkswagen bug….no matter how much you fix it up, it’s still a VW Bug.

The Honda navi has served me well. I've never had a issue looking up any address and the Honda navi has taken me everywhere I've wanted to go. I like the Honda navi better than the Goggle maps with AA mainly because the Honda navi is much easier to use with the bikes handlebars controls. I'm not saying the Honda navi couldn't use some improvement but it sure does get alot of hate do to user error.

Mike, I'm going to do mine tomorrow. Maybe you should ride up here and do yours too. One other guy in my riding group is going to come over and do his too. Anyway you're welcome to show up, the ride will do you good. Bring your SS screws too.

I had issues with the Goldwing finding USB as well. When I downloaded the file, my Windows10 PC showed the file as "swdl(1)". After 3 attempts with the Goldwing, I put the jump drive back into pc and removed the (1) from the file name. Tried again and Goldwing found the file within a minute.
This is exactly what I experience. Removed the (1) on the file I downloaded and it found it immediately.

Weird, we are all downloading from the same link yet getting files named differently……🤔

I just performed the update on my 2018 DCT Tour and had no issues whatsoever. Follow the instructions on the Honda website to the “T” and everything flows as it should. Takes a little over 30 minutes to update.
I have not tested all my peripheral equipment (sena50s and IPhone XR) yet but I don’t expect any issues. I rarely use the OEM GPS for anything more than a rolling map since Google maps and Wayze through ACP work well in most cases.

I updated mine this morning. Everything worked as advertised. It took about 40 minutes. I checked all of the settings, and it appears that nothing changed. I will check out the maps on the next ride.

I finally went out to the workshop and loaded the update. Took about 30 minutes and as best as I can tell it did not change any of my settings (thankfully). I'm a Mac user, so this is from a MacBook download perspective. Didn't get a chance to ride today, so I didn't get to check out BT or ACP integration, but if what others are saying holds true, then I should be a happy camper or more likely a mollified curmudgeon :)
