Yes the mighty Goldwing began in 1975 (seen in Germany late 1974 at a motorcycle show in Cologne). HOWEVER, Honda did not manufacture or produce any 2011 model year Goldwings. Hence this is the 49th year of the mighty Goldwing name and years of production. 2026 will represent the 50th year of manufacturing the Goldwing and suitable as an anniversary of recognition.
So maybe there's hope for a highly evolutionary all new Goldwing in 2026 with the technology we are seeing on competitive touring motorcycles?
Yes, of course it's been 50 years since the Goldwing debuted. Just like Indian says "since 1902" but they have NOT manufactured or sold Indian motorcycles every year since. And neither has Harley Davidson, "since 1903". Consider this: Royal Enfield is the oldest brand in CONTINUOUS motorcycle production, dating from 1901. As for motorcycle model, that award goes also to Royal Enfield's Bullet 350, around in continuous production since 1932.
