I think this is unusual, but others might experience even more than this.
I went for my morning ride on the way to work today, east of San Diego in the canyons. It was a clear night, and the lowest temperature I saw was 36°. After work, I saw a reading of 85° in several places on the way home.
Does a 49° difference between high and low seem like a lot to y'all?
I've seen a larger spread when travelling, but not all in one city, in one day.

I guess it seemed like a lot to me, since San Diego is normally so mild. It doesn't get real hot in the summer, it doesn't get too cold in the winter, and there isn't normally a big swing in the temperature in a single day.
On a typical summer day, it's 85° during the day, and 60° at night.
