Is there a FIX for the 6 sec turn signal when i am driving. In Fl. you have to warn the car behind you more than the 6 sec that is on ?
6 sec is ok for a lane change, BUT when i am getting off the highway at 80mph, I need the trun signal to stay on longer, goes off before you know it, never had this happen on my other bike.

Bottom line, is there a fix to stay on longer when driving, very anoying.
Thanks

I "think" the turn signal is a combination of distance and timing. I know if I'm going slower on the exit ramps (under 40) the turn signal stays on for a bit longer. I usually cancel the signal after I make a turn in local traffic because of the speed and distance I'm traveling.

As stated, and I usually do, just repeat the turn signal press if you're going to be traveling a longer distance.

Mine (2001) seems to stay on much longer if I maintain perfectly straight travel. Any deviation in lean from vertical while moving (lane change or movement ) seems to shorten/cancel the turn indicator. Bank angle sensor overly sensitive?? Don't know, but I have just gotten into the habit of while braking to bump the switch a second/third time.

I think there's some type of mercury switch thst deactivate the turn signal after few seconds?

As were mentioned, I just hit the switch when signal cancel itself.

Do you have a 2018 or newer ?? If so, you can disable it in one of the drop down menus and it'll stay on until you click it off.

On the 01-17 model years, the signal cycle time is dependent on your speed and whether or not you have made a turn or not. The cancel unit uses the speed sensor pulses to calculate the flashing cycle and it has a variable resistor in the steering stem that lets it know if you have slightly turned the handle bars. The bank angle sensor has no control over it and there’s no mercury switches involved either. There is no adjustments for it like the newer wings.

Mine bike is 2016. Like yesterday, comming off I-75 in a straight line at 70 MPH the turn signal goes off in 6 sec, That's fine, HOWEVER, when I have a car behind me ( looking at there Smart ASS PHONE, ) I want them to know that I am turning, Like I said, the other bikes I had would stay ON, until i turned it off. I was woundering if there was a FIX, Guess not.
Thanks.

You can disable the auto cancel completely by breaking the speed sensor signal wire that feeds the cancel unit. There’s a few solutions to make the cycle longer if you don’t want to kill it completely. Turn Signal Madness for the GL1800 Fred and Waldo came up with this stuff.

To be truthful, I'd keep it cause, I have a few friends that (don't ride Honda's) and everytime they switch on their directionals, they forget to shut them off, and I'm behind them watching their directional's blink, blink, blink, and I have to remind them to shut it off..... One of these days a car will turn out in front of them, "think'n" that they were turning.. (and the car will be in the "right" doing so).....I thought like you did, when I first purchased my first GWing, I wished that the time'n was at least a few more blinks, BUT now I'm used to it, and just hit the button again...

Sir i have tried to use that on my 2016 , it does not work, still a 6 sec turn signal.
No matter what i have tired , still 6 sec. slowing down, brakes on ? nothing, still the same.

My apologies for the confusion. I used an Arduino Nano That I programmed to modify the signal light timing. It checks the speed and if there is a speed drop of 5 Km/h it re-clicks the signal light. It will also not modify the timing at all below 45Km/h because I liked the way they worked in town. It is a nice little plug and play unit though.

I built a few for some friends but the last batch of Nanos I bought seam unstable and have had terrible failure rates.
