For what it is worth, this past Saturday, I ran into a man that works in the Goldwing engine department in Marysville, Ohio. To get to the point, he told me that a 6 speed transmission is forthcoming in the not too distant future for the Goldwings. He said 2010 was the last year Goldwings would be manufactured in the United States. After that, all Goldwings would come from Japan. He also went on to say that the engines would be relatively unchanged even though there is a push to up the displacement to over 2000 cc's.

Time will tell...................

I have a friend of a friend whos third cousin saw the new 2011 test Goldwing and he said it will have an automatic transmission and be 12 cyl and 2800 cc.

Uh huh, right, sure, got it, must be true...it's on the internet.

Mulitple    to the Rumor Mill!!

My cousin dated the guy that cuts the grass for the guy you are talking about. He verified everything you said.

Yeah, but you can't trust her. Her momma's illegitimate daughter works for a Harley dealership

Yourfriend is 100% right the 2011 or 2012 goldwing will have Honda automatic transmission in them. I look for the cost to go to about 30,000with the import taxes.

80 year old woman

Don't get do on 80 yo woman. They may not need birth control but that dosen't mean the whole system is shut down. One of the Ladies I work with whom is retiring in a couple of months always said "do the old ladies first the youn can take care of them self " Besides given the right meds and 80 yo can make a baby.

My wife had the automatic back in the '70s. She remembers it well and loved it! Forgot how big it was, but we (mine was a 750) made many miles together!

I saw Bigfoot once.

He said that the 2013 Goldwings were going to be built by Harley-Davidson.

Elvis and E.T. confirmed that it was true.

Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny had no comment (I think they were too busy taking turns with the Tooth Fairy )

You are Correct...My Wifes cousin works there also and everything you said is true. He will be transfered to the Car plant when the motorcycle plant closes so at least no job loss for him. Everything I have gotten from him has always been true. That's why I bought an 08 model instead of waiting for the 09. I knew it would only have minor changes....That's why I quit posting wing changes on here because you will get slammed. I keep my news to myself and my red rider wing friends.....

Wow, you guys are brutal. I'm guessing the original poster will think twice about posting up any more gossip he hears along the way considering the response.

BTW, there's nothing in what he said that sounds far fetched or off base. In fact, a 2L motor and a 6 speed sounds like a natural progression of the GL1800 and honestly sounds a lot less radical than I would expect for a 10 year makeover. Of course, it could be wrapped in sleeker bodywork with improved wind management, about 100 lbs lighter and getting near 50 MPG. THAT would be revolutionary.

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled programming........
