Lest we think the idea of a V8 powered trike is new, there was the 1913 Scripps-Booth Bi-Autogo, a 3,200 lb. motorcycle with training wheels, shown below. The plumbing adds an interesting decorative touch, don't you think?

I figured out that this thing is/was in the Owls Head Transportation Museum, which is adjacent to the airport in Rockland, Maine, off Rt 1 to Rt. 73. The place supposedly has:

  • 28 aircraft from 1804 to 1946
  • 50 autos from 1885 to 1980
  • 9 motorcycles from 1913 to 1953
  • 13 carriages from 1849 to 1910
  • 14 bicycles from 1868 to 1935
  • 25 engines from 1880 to 1946
  • other stuff
It looks to be a nice little day trip later in the spring (I have no affiliation with this place).
