I'm sure that I'll be chastised by the board police, but I wanted to share this with all of you.

I took my 12 year old grandson to the Little league World Series, in Williamsport, PA., in August, for his final year playing little league baseball, before he moves on to Babe Ruth league.

There was a black circle with the number 11, in white numerals, on the outfield wall, at the staduim. It's the only number on the wall. It was in memory of a NYC firefighter, Michael Cammarata, who played baseball at the 1991 Little League World Series.

His baseball uniform number was 11; he was a NYC firefighter at station #11; and he died at ground zero on 9/11. I was emotionally humbled by the sad irony of this story.
