I need a favor...

The week of July 14th our son-in-law, grandson and I are going to Ride the Natchez Trace. I'll be Riding my bike down from Michigan, my son-in-law will be towing his bike from Georgia.

What we need is a safe place to park his car and small open trailer.

We'll be arriving in Nashville and staying Sunday night (14th) at the Hampton Inn near the entrance to The Trace. (within 5 miles) Will arrive back on Sat the 20th.

Can anyone help us out?

I can't help you personally, but often hotels, especially a Hampton, will let you leave a vehicle in the parking lot. They do it all the time for people who take boat cruises. I bet they have been asked this by other riders and will do it to encourage staying at the property. Leave your contact info with them.

Cruiser i plan on making the same ride but will be riding it from Natchez and go north to Nashville at the end of August. I need to know where to stay about halfway up around the 200 mile mark. I rode it once by mistake. Some of the towns didn't look to safe, let me know where you gassed up and where you spent the night so i can learn from your experiences.

We'll be making the trip (both ways) in 7 full days. I'm sure we'll be missing alot but will be looking into the stops that rickathome suggested.
We'll be motelling it in major cities,... Tupelo, (both ways) Clinton-Jackson, (both ways) and in the middle (Wed) in Narchez, MS. Our motels are within a mile or two of the Trace.

We don't have an unlimited time frame as my son-in-law is still a working stiff and 'gladly' paying into my Social Security fund. Last year while my wife and daughter were on a trip together with our grandsons, we traveled around eastern Tennessee between Lenoir City and Johnson City for a week and had a great time together. We've done day-trips together but not many over-nights and til last year no trips lasting several days.
This will be the first time my grandson (9 years) will be joining us. He's ridden around the block with his Dad and loves the bike. We're all excited to have him join us.

Thank You so much for the tips. This is what we need. Better than just stumbling on (or missing places) things.
I'm looking forward once we get to Natchez to cross the River and seeing if we can find some 'live' Zydeco music. :laugh:

They have a nice bed & breakfast, and the best samishes, potato soup, chili, Mississippi mud pie, dill pickles, and the best broccoli salad you ever gonna eat!!!!! Very neat place to stop, eat, and walk around.
