..good to see they get something for that extra six grand..lol..
..oh, and a tool kit too I think?
:)

Den
Not sure how this happened, but using the current $ conversion my calculator says they are currently cheaper in Canada.

Cdn MSRP DCT tour = C$31,999
US MSRP DCT Tour = US$ 27,700

Current exchange rate approx us 0.80 = cdn 1.00

27,700/0.8 = Cdn $34,635 for me to by one in the US

31,999 * 0.8 = US25,599 for you to buy one in Canada.
(and you get a tool kit!)

In the past I've received 2 keys and one fob in Canada.
Same with the US bike I imported when the exchange rate was much different.

The OM (murf's link) talks about an 'emergency key', a 'built-in key' and the 'smart key'.
Is that what those that have taken delivery are getting?

Cut and paste from page 208:

Keys
This motorcycle has emergency key, built-in
key and a key tag with a key number. Store
the emergency key and key tag in a safe
location.
Normally, the built-in key should be stored
in the Honda SMART Key. 2 P. 187
To make a duplicate key, take the key and
key tag to your dealer or a locksmith.
The emergency key and built-in key are
used to unlock the left saddle bag in an
emergency. 2 P. 187

page 209

Do not lose your Honda SMART Key. If
you lose it, you will need to register a
new Honda SMART Key. See your dealer
with your emergency key and ID tag for
registration.

Maybe the receiver doesn't need to be replaced with the new fob??

My Kawasaki Concours also only came with one FOB and if you lose it you have to buy a whole new KiPASS ECU for around $800. I don't like it, but it seems to be the way manufactures are going now days.
YIKES! :surprise:

Fred, do you suspect that the new Wing also has that same arrangement, i.e., lose your one-and-only key FOB and you get to buy a new ECU?

Sure hope not!
Service manual verifies that --

Any registered smart key can be used to register additional smart keys.

If you have the main emergency number, there is a method to add a fob if all fobs are lost. 23-19

If you lose all fobs, AND the main emergency number then a new fob(s), new Smart control unit and new ESL unit (electric steering lock) will be required. 23-26

The main emergency number (number for the first fob registered) may be more valuable than the a fob...

Once a fob has been registered to a smart control unit, it cannot be registered to another one (so those with more than one 2018 can't start 2 bikes with one fob, or use that as a backup plan when travelling)

What does this tag mean?
Do not throw away that tag.

The number (partially hidden in the photo) is your emergency start code. Store it in your phone etc.

Little known fact - you can scan that QR code (adjacent to the number) using your phone. It will produce the emergency start code which you can copy to the clip board then paste into a note or contact.
Of course if you have you phone out to take a shot of the QR code, you could just as easy save the photo, since it also has the number on it.

I do like the idea of keeping the number in 'contacts' and/or as a 'note' or 'to-do' entry on the phone.
I'd also keep a copy of the info (and maybe the tags) in the same place as the bill of sale for the bike.

There should also be small metal tags (not pictured, unless I missed it)
The small metal tags are the lock numbers.
Needed if key is lost and wanting to have another one cut.
