To pick the brains of the board and tap that experiance base:

If picking a new option and wanting to limit it to one, which of the following would be the best investment for a factory original (not for long) Wing;

Fog Lights, with EC being the leading fav from earlier threads.
OR
A back rest for the driver?

Be taking a long trip this summer, Fl to Wy.

Weigh in gents, and thanks in advance.

With mine, my personal thoughts were: safety items first. Then I bought my Utopia back rest and realized I should have bought it first! LOL

Seriously, I think those are two important items, safety and the back rest. If you truly only want one, you may have to flip a coin.

Welcome to the board!

If picking only one, by far the back rest is the way to go. You can always drive as far as you want with your headlights only. But once your back starts to hurt, you are done for the day.

Good Luck.

backrest also, doesn't do any good to be safe if you're too uncomfortable to ride :D

When I decide to buy a new Goldwing. The first three things I will purchase will be:

1. Backrest
2. Highway Pegs
3. Handlebar risers

and a Car Tire for the rear! ! !

Backrest.

BTW, lights won't make one safer. Safety starts in the 6" space between one's ears.

Easy one to answer: Backrest.

BTW, after you install the back rest and realize how good it really is,
you'll be tempted to say to yourself, "I must be the smartest man in the
whole wide world."

Thanks

For the answers. I really was thinking lights, but the backrest is a wiser choice I think. Had to trim my lo-beams on the way in this morning, at 43 degrees, to relieve the cager's eye strain after one flashed me his brights. Seeing this bike, and me, should not me an issue!

I particularly relate to "Safety starts in the 6" space between one's ears."
Watch for the problem and avoid, or take it out, has been a mantra for too long!

Love the door number three answer, U got an Eazy Button bro? Where can I get one?

Will start another advise thread on my number two question, thanks for the assist.
