When I purchased my bike in November I had the dealer install both upper and lower side deflectors. I have since replaced both with Show Chrome.
Upper deflectors the Show Chrome wins for better air management. Lower deflectors the Honda model is better except if you use highway pegs.
I modified the Honda deflectors by cutting off the lowest tabs and it still interfered.

After I cutoff the lowest tab the next one still was cutting into my legs. That is when I purchased the Show Chrome lowers.

These work best in the closed position. In the open position they just divert hot air from the radiator onto your legs. So far they may be the best compromise.
