That is two amazing riders. I followed them on the MTF as much as I could. They didn't get any play over here for no actual Goldwings were harmed during this amazing journey.
They also suffered from poor timing. I know they had to do it at this time because Prudhoe Bay is accessible ny motorcycle only a couple of months of the year at best. They ran their journey right in the middle of the Iron Butt Rally. It was sorta like Farrah Fawcet passing away the same day as what's-his-face.
I tried to both follow Tim and Alan, and keep up with the IBR. I live vicariously through their adventures.
Alan said they did an average of 500 a day, so some conflict. I heard it was like 49 days or so, but even so it is a remarkable ride to say the least. they rode 3000 miles plus of gravel road. Two very competent riders with lots of experience and they did it. Congrats to them without a doubt.
