These beautiful Arizona days are hard to take! But, Candi and I managed a 365 mile loop Sunday. A little breezy out there but temps were perfect. Lots of bikes out practicing their social distancing riding at least 6 feet apart. (y)

We took the new Loop 202 around the south end of Phoenix and continued until meeting up with Hwy 60 east to Superior. The bathrooms at the rest stop there were CLOSED. No problem, there is a fairly new Circle K on the west end of town. I usually boycott Circle Ks since my son is a QT Manager, but don't tell him... 馃槆

We headed south from there through Kearney and the twin-cities metropolis of Hayden-Winklemen. Not the best pavement in the world still, but fun anyway. We headed north toward Globe, then north on Hwy 188 with plans to eat our picnic lunch at the Roosevelt Dam overlook. Well, that plan was squelched because the road is CLOSED! Yes, there was a rock slide over the road that occurred a few days ago. I didn't know where on the road it was but now I do. You can see it as you cross the bridge. It's JUST before the overlook so you can't get to it. BUMMER! If it was just another 100 feet west the overlook would be accessible. So, we kept going hoping to find an open day area on the lake. Most were closed, the rest were PACKED! We found a dirt trailhead parking area at the Hwy 188/87 junction and ate there.

Roosevelt Lake level is definitely up from previous visits. It just sparkled in the sunlight. Beautiful sight.

On the road again, turning just before Fountain Hills at the casino and took the back road to Fountain Hills and Rio Verde, played on the twisties just north of the turn to Scottsdale, then turned around and went through Scottsdale and west toward home.

We needed that...here's the route...Kinda looks like a dolphin!

Hope you enjoyed the dolphin run! Looks like that may be the last ride you鈥檒l enjoy for while? I did hear your governor decided your spacing wasn鈥檛 consistent enough, so you have to go to your room!! Sorry buddy!!

Arizona16, so saddened to hear of your recent horrid experience in our deplorable riding conditions. Now you know I felt over my Absolutely Horrid ride to Tortilla Flat not that long ago.

I would suggest seeking counselling for both of you, but are therapists considered "essential services" in the Grand Canyon State? If not, pick up your soup can phone and talk with your neighbor, perhaps you may obtain some form of relief after speaking with him/her.

God bless you and thank you so much for that! Your concern for our sanity and well-being is bringing REAL tears to my eyes!:LOL:

Maybe we should get together and attempt to pierce the darkness of that abhorrent Tortilla Flat in unity of soul... (y)
