OK, just pondering my projects for when I get home.

I have bought the E/C 4 channel amp and 4 Polk speakers. Have heard the Polks are much better sounding than the stock or others marketed for the 1800.

Also know the Diamonds were well reviewed, but a bit more $$ than I'd like to spend.

In Chet's mods he used the Xplods for his rears and spoke well of the bass output.

Any other recommendations for a good bass producing speaker to fill in from the rear of the bike?

TIA

Hey Loren, do the sonys bolt right in? if not how much modification does it take? I am ready to buy new speakers as I hate the stock ones as well as the cheap ones I had installed in the back and am debating on the sonys or diamonds!

thanks Ed

I checked several sources for small woofers, but the key to good base is the enclosure! On the 1800 I suppose you could put a sub woofer in the trunk or on top of your aux. fuel cell. :D I'm very happy with my set-up Mike. If I want bass I wait until I can sit in my living room in front of the 15"s.
Here are some links to look for speakers and enclosures if you want to shop.

E/c amp and 4 polks. Actually think it has to much bass. But my hearing is not good anymore either. The amp seems to raise the audio level 3 x to me, over stock. Can cruise at 80 mph and hear it, so can the toll taker down the road LOL. Had e/c mid priced speakers first, definitely differant.

the sonys took some masssaging to get in.

one mounting hole worked fine, two thers needed to be drilled and then spacer was used to get the lower part up off the plastic. the speaker points up at the lower end, not straight foward. but where are your ears, right in line with the upward angle.

probably took half an hour each to mount, couple of tries and then you can see where to tweek it a little.

was it worth the effort, i do believe.

polks are a bolt in, but smaller and about twice the $$.

either is waaaay better than the garbage that honda sells, or the front garbage that is stock.
