Noticing that most of the YouTube videos about upcoming Goldwing models seem to be AI-generated and feel like clickbait, though a few are from reputable influencers. Does anyone actually know if there’s a major refresh or redesign coming for the Goldwing in 2026

They've never done much for anniversary models. All the big changes came in non-anniversary years. I'm not expecting any big changes but if any were to come, there's no reason to not expect them on a non-anniversary model.

If you have looked at the past 2 major redesigns, it came after 12+ years of the current model. The GL15 was from 1988 - 2000. The 1832cc GL18 was from 2001 - 2017.

The current model has been with us for only 8 years. You likely have AT LEAST 4 years to wait. And, there is a fair chance a redesigned Valkyrie will preceded a new Goldwing by about 4 years.

Just my opinion, but I probably wouldn't expect any major changes for a couple more years. Maybe in 2028. The current model will be 10 years old then, and that's about the time frame I'd expect a change.

Judging from past performance, the previous generation had GPS and Airbags added and cooling system and audio upgrades after 5 years, another GPS improvement after 8 years, and a facelift to bodywork and saddlebags after 11 years. The redesign wasn't released until 17 years after the first 01 came out.

My best WAG is that Honda believes that the vast majority of riders are no longer using a dedicated GPS system, but rather are using the systems supported by their smart phones. Thus no need for Honda updates or out-sourcing to a navagation system builder to supply them.

This comes up every year and we will know when Honda releases it. I am amazed how well they keep it under wraps.

If Honda would just bring back the bright colors instead of all the primer paint, and get away from all the decals, along with a much better seat, make the saddlebags larger, refine the little things and make the bike better than it is now. Honda needs to do more to make us current owners want to buy a new Gold Wing

What would make me consider trading my 2018

I would be ok with a fully digital display, the new HD screens do look nice.

Selfishly - 2 extra gallons of fuel

Fully adjustable suspension, I want to go from ripping twisities one up into touring comfort 2-up with a few button press's

Blue color circa the 2013's

Better throttle mapping and slightly lower engine rpm at highway speeds

Air Filter placement,

The new BMW RT has a 6.3 gallon tank and a claimed 57 mpg along with more HP, better suspension and more luggage capacity. I currently have a 2020 GW tour DCT and I would buy a new one if Honda would update the bike and address the fuel capacity, suspension, and luggage. The air filter would be a bonus but I could live with it if they would address the other issues.

Coming home from Rockies Gold, the gas quality got worse and more expensive heading west. By the time I was in Oregon, I was getting 35 mpg with two up and pulling a trailer. In Colorado I was getting around 50 with the trailer and 57 without the trailer and still 2 up. A bigger tank is needed and long overdue. I miss my 8.9 gallon tank from my BMW.

A meaningful bigger fuel tank probably couldn't be fitted into the frame of this motorcycle as you got to squeeze and slide the fuel tank into the its inside frame postion. The 2018 plus model goes farther on a tank of fuel than the old model did anyways, not to mention that in most of the US, there is a fuel station every 5 miles

I'm wondering if they have people that actually read these forums? IDK how it all works , but that would be the best place to get your design team's ideas. At least , that's what i would imagine. It's your customer after all. We are the ones that ride them, test them, experience all the issues with them and know the bikes inside and out (besides the engineers).

Honda has done a lot of playing around with the self balancing concept bikes. I expect the next generation will incorporate components of this allowing lane centering and lane changing collision avoidance functionality with an eventual self driving goal similar to automotive auto drive systems. That said, it is probably still a few years off. My guess is with the other guys saying no major changes this year. I also am not suggesting anybody wants that stuff, but just like the DCT, once it comes out and you ride it, it spoils you pretty fast. I can imagine pulling up to a stop light with my full on arthritis in my hips, and never needing to put my feet down. Trike conversions could go extinct if this tech is normalized.

I keep reminding myself, It's a motorcycle..Just because the technology exists doesn't mean it's needed or better.. All this tech drives costs and complication, not to mention service nightmares. If,all that technology is what some are after, buy a new car. I can see a better seat, deeper bags possibly. Bigger gas tank ? My 2025 will go over three hundred miles on a tank.. It's time for a break by then anyway or a bigger tank isn't really necessary IMHO. I can't stand lane departure warning or collision warning and adaptive cruise control. Don't need it, don't want it I have grown to like the DCT but can still ride without it. How about adaptive suspension like Ohlins offers ? Currently used on MotoGP bikes.

Out of curiosity, how are you getting over 300 miles out of a tank of gas? Are you typically riding at higher elevations? Best I can do is 250-ish and that's on a good day.

I know I am in the bottom and it will not happen. Put the GPS uback on. I have no issues with it at all. I do have a Garmin XT, but hate having it mounted on my bars. Gets in the way of some of the information I desire from the dash, like tpms and fuel range. I plan all my trips on basecamp and install on the oem nav. Hardly an issue. If I veer off course I simply delete a point or two and am right back on track. When I have had enough of a day I simply stop the route and plug in home or an address and it will b- line me directly there. If it is used in the way it was designed it works great, as long as you use a proper route designer. It always remembers where I am and where to go when I shut it off for lunch or a fuel stop

Exactly. I use the Harley Planner or MyRoute-app to plan the routes but the Honda navigation uses the files really well. I use navigation frequently and like it a lot. On a straight line somewhere I use Waze for the police information and quickest time. But a lot of my riding is based on fun roads, not the fastest roads.
