Got looking at my front tire and found the wear indicators were level (OEM D250). Was thinking of buying a Avon Cobra and mounting it myself with dyna beads for balance. For future reference has anyone replace the valve stems with just the short straight black ones like on autos, I would think they would work OK. I can not figure out why the front is gone and the back still has lots of tire left, did I miss the wear indicator on the back one? Is there anything else I should be looking at as well?

I did not mount my own but I do think the DynaBeads work great and Bridgestone tires are great too. Folks here do run the Avons and seem to like them.

DynaBeads is not snake oil! DynaBeads is the shiznit!

I have mounted several sets of tires on a Harbor Fright tire changer that is modified to work better. I also balance mine on my own static balancer. They are easy once the technique is learned. Care has to be taken for the rims as they are soft and scratch easily.
