A friend of mine just bought a new set of Metzeler 880's and, before he could even get them installed, totaled his GL1800 two days later. He's OK and is taking this as a sign he should buy a new Wing. With all the talk of a tire shortage on the board here I suggested he let me post about them here. I know he paid something over $300 but he'll take $275 + shipping rather than sit on them until he wears out his OEM tires on the new bike. They're the stock, OEM sizes for the GL1800. If you can't find tires or are faced with a long, long wait, these might just be the answer.

Considering Hal sells the pair for $289.95 shipped, and there's a 10% sale goin on, which brings it to a bit over $260.00, not sure how many takers are out there.

Thanks anyways!! Good luck with the wobblers.

If he's gonna buy a new wing, then put those good ole Metzelers on it and sell the crapy Dunny 250s as salvage! That is exactly what I would do!

You mean the tires that nobody is shipping except to fulfill 4 month old backorders?? Yea, Hal's got good prices, but nobody is getting these tires anytime soon from any source..

Two in hand is better than 2 on backorder with no delivery date specified....

Cool!! Did you order anything else with that order?? I would be interested to know if Metzlers are shipping now!! My understanding (from folks with firsthand knowlege) was that all tires were on long backorders, especially Dunlops... Hmm.. Please post when they arrive!!

Nope, just the tires. I don't need them now but after hearing about the shortages I figured I'd go ahead and get them on order. I didn't expect them to ship so fast.

Looking at the shipping progress, I'm seeing arrival and departure scans, so they're on the way. Besides Hal doesn't bill the card till your item ships and mine has been billed.

The tires have been spoken for now and will be picked up next week. Two fellow Wingers were helped out on this deal. 8) That's why you've gotta love this board. :D
