2700 miles on new Avons in the last 14 days. I replaced the original Lops that came with m 2005 at 9000 mi. The Avons are like glue on mountain curves. Even on wet roads the Avons were very good. If there is somethng bad about them, it would have to be the noise developed after about 1500 mi. Sounds a little like a 747 on climb out. This is not a loud nois, just the only thing bad I can say about the tire. I'll take the slight noise for the superior handling any day . This is the best tire I have ever had.

Did you go "60" or "70" rear? I went 70 and am very pleased. P.S.--Is that a scarecrow eagle? It sure looks like it.

Changed the stock Dunlops a little early at 11K as they had plenty of tread left but was leaving on a 4000+ trip and I didn't want to find out that what I judged as plenty was actually 2500 miles. I ran Avons on my Valk and loved them - grip and wear was great. Went with the 70 series. Ran two up for the trip and no complaints. Handled twisties (both low and high speed) and rain. Also was steady as a rock across the salt flats but that is not a requirement for a street tire.
