On each side of the bike is the Goldwing worded logo on the side panels.

I am trying to figure out a way to backlight this? I want to be able to make the word stand out like it is illuminated and can be read from say, a passenger lane over.

Anyone have anyideas??

You could buy another sidecover, and with a real steady hand cut out an oval just big enuff to allow a small gap around the "gold wing" use 2 thin pieces of lexan cut one to fit the the cut out around the "gold wing" cut the other one slightly larger that the opening. Using jet (balsa wood glue that dries clear and sits up in about 3 seconds) glue the 2 peices of lexan together. Take your lens and glue it in place into the opening. Choose a small light that has a nice pattern and brightness/color. Put the "goldwing" back in place and give it a shot. I saw this on a car show at work the other night it was used to back light the make of the car in neon. But you want to make sure that you buy the lexan as the same thickness as tupperware cover though so you wont have any low/high spots.
