What can you use for a drivers backrest for an 06 or 07 with the heated seats? Can you use a Utopia style that cuts into the seat?

According to the installation instructions on the Utopia website, the backrest basically installs the same. I'm looking at that very issue myself.

The Utopia backrest does fine on my '06. No interference with the seat heat.

Utopia works great, just use a little caution when cutting the foam. I had at least an inch of clearence from the cut to the wiring.

I use it with heated seats - no issues! Go for it!

The only issue for Utopia and the '06 heated seat is the riser bar (the part embedded inside the seat) must be notched to clear a raised nub on the seat frame that keeps the wiring clear of the backrest. From what I have read, Utopia has provided notched riser bars on it's backrests since at least mid-2005. I removed the Utopia backrest from my destroyed '03A and reinstalled it in my '06 AFTER purchasing a notched bar from Utopia for $25.00. FYI the raised nub on the seat frame is there whether or not the seat is heated.

Ride long and safe..and this is per MY experience. Your results may differ. Eh?
