I don't have any trouble wearing out a Continental SSR tire.
I'm on my third one and got 7000 miles out of the last one.
I did a lot of straight road driving pulling a trailer with air
pressure at 30 psi. I am not that impressed with the mileage,
but that is not why I purchase car tires.

A couple of us have found the Conti wore out faster than many of the other ones. Try a Khumo next time around or a Wintersport Dunlop and I'll bet you get better mileage.

I too just now wore out my Conti run-flat at about 16000 miles. I'm not quite down to the wear bars but I'm close. The Kumho I ordered to replace it should arrive tomorrow.

That's not great mileage, for I got 16000 to 17000 on my first two Dunlop E-3's, but the car tire rides SO MUCH smoother and quieter. I'm interested in seeing how the Kumho feels.

Got 29k out of the first Kumho on our flatland roads. This is with 1up and no trailer, your mileage may vary.

We just came back from a 120 mile ride across Wayah Mtn. from Nantahala to Franklin, NC and back to Murphy with the Kumho. It's a KEEPER!!!!! Even though I thot the Conti RF was the ideal tire, this Kuhmo is the bomb :excited:!!!! I thot I had a M/C tire back on it again in the corners. Good stuff. Semper-fi
