Anyone using different nuts on their Air Wings other than the plastic nuts Baker provides? My wings continually moved in the wind stream and I barely turned the bottom nut and it stripped. The plastic nuts just don't cut it...

I have 1/4 X 20 tpi nuts (stainless steel) on mine. Baker Wings are one of the few motorcycle gizmos with SAE threads.

I just went and looked at my Baker air wings and the nuts -- the ones that hold the wings in position all look like they're metal to me ??

I believe they're metal outside and plastic (threaded area) inside. Baker puts a separate warning sheet in with their instructions not to tighten them more than a 1/4 turn beyond hand tight, but I barely moved the wrench at all and it stripped....
