Hi CA riders,

I am coming to Bakersfield Oct 1 for a two week training class at Chevron. Plan to rent a bike and ride. Have been looking at routes. How would a ride from Bakersfield to Bodfish to Ridgecrest to Mojave and back to Bakersfield be. Any other ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

Head north to the big trees. An great ride and if you've never seen them, the trees are amazing.

A few ideas to put on your to do list:

Definitely ride (both directions) Hwy 58 between McKittrick and Hwy 101 - just a great motorcycle road.

East of Bakersfield:

Hwy 178 is a fun road to ride (plus thousands of Josha trees),

which can tie into a ride over the Sherman Pass, which is just a terrific ride.

Here is a little video of a trip over Sherman Pass:

Hwy 155 just northwest of Lake Isabella going over to Glennville.
Old Stage Road up to Porterville - primative and goes through some incredible country.

If time allows try to get up to Sequoia National Park and down into Kings Canyon is just awesome and both very scenic and some fantastic motorcycling.

You better tell the gang at Chevron you'll be very busy and not aways available so just leave messages on your cell phone or at the hotel.
