they should have done this long a go :?

I have had to put two dogs down, those were the worse days of my life, but they were both in a great deal pain. It was my duty to them as there guardian.

It's been 1 year and 10 months, and I'm still very sad

Not sure if Barbaro was a Gelding or not. But if he was, not much "Stud" money in him.

Speaking of "Studs" anybody hear from Hedo Lately?

I believe he was NOT a gelding...it was very clear he would never run again so if he was a gelding it would be an easy decsion to put him down....however there was the possibility to keep him for a stud....alas this was not the case

I would be willing to bet that Barbaro was milked dry before the final needle.

And yes, it should have been earlier.

ROY,

I learn from the best.

I guess if ya can't beat them, join them!

Thanks for noticing

Back on track: Bet the spent more for his Vet bills than they have for any returning war wounded! Lots of money for poor old Barbaro! I am sorry that he did not make it. Sorrier that they did not euthanize sooner!

Better?

My thoughts at first but then I read earlier today that artificial insemination is not allowed by the thoroughbred horse association.

The owners of this horse will be getting around $30 MILLION in Ins.
Loss in Stud service, and Loss in Racing revenue. So don't worry about the owners, they will be at the bank by the end of the month.

....and they'll have enough money for at least 2 new Goldwings (there, now we comply with ALL the rules including anti-hijack protocol!)

My dog, Buckshot, will have to go that way one of these days. I give him aspirin twice a day and he seems to be tolerating the Cancer pretty well. He is rarely more than 5 feet away. When the day comes, I will be crushed.

The vet said he would not make Christmas. He and I have our bowls of oatmeal every morning. He can still run but I have to help him into the Van.

I know most will not like this comment, but I just don't understand how this story got so much publicity. It's just a horse. Why don't we have as much sympathy and press for the homeless or orphaned children in our country?

P.S. Yes I am a pet owner.
