I recently purchased a Garmin 76CSx for hiking, mtn biking and dirt biking. I have Topo maps for the western US and the US City Navigator.

I want to buy a large screen GPS to share between my GW and car. Can I also use those maps with another GPS? Do I have to do anything to "unlock" them for the new GPS? Not sure how that works. Thanks.

Garmin allows you to use "locked" mapsets for two Garmin units. You'll need to register your auto/motorcycle gps with Garmin before you can use City Navigator with it. Be sure to get a Garmin gps that's compatible with the version of City Navigator that you have.

I believe the topo maps are not "locked" (that's the case with Topo Canada) so they can be used with any number of Garmin gps's.
