03 wing,,do i have to disconnect the battery when charging ? i bought a battery tender jr. and it has the permanent adapter cable that goes on the battery but my service manual says to pull the battery when charging.???? can i use the tender cable and leave the battery hooked up ???? thanks

Been using battery tender without taking battery for years. Normally hook it up if I'm not going to ride for a couple of weeks. Just never try to start bike with battery tender connected.

I've started mine many times with it connected without any problems.....should I be looking for something??

I'm like Steve...just hook the tender up when I'm gone for a week or two. I think what the manual is talking about is a "charging situation" vs "battery maintaining situation", there is a difference.
