Best Tire Size 05 Gl1800

Hello everyone. I have a 05 1800 that is in need of a rear tire. It has a Dunlop 180/60 16 but I am wondering about going with a smaller tire. Due to me being built closer to the ground (5'6'') I thought a little lower might give me more stability. I know gas mileage will go down a little but I wonder if it is worth the difference. Does anyone have any experience with going smaller ? What would be a good size ? Thanks for your help.

Go to a forum at this sate called the Dark Side and see if they have a soultion. I recommend OE size and not Dunnies.

The chief complaint is that they wear out too fast and they have poor wet road performance and subject to scalloping or cupping as called here. The Bridgestone's seem to be the predominant choice. A few others swear by the Avon's too. I run Bridgestone's and I really like them. Look into Dynabeads for your balancing solution over lead. They are a good bet too.

Thanks Bjcarter. After reading about CT's on the Dark Side I have ordered a Perilli Eufori 195/55/16 87H. I have friends who have been running CT's for quite awhile and love them. I plan on taking some long trips now that I am reitired and I want the security of a RF tire.

Can't wait for the weather here in the NE to get better so I can get out riding.
