Beverly's Birthday Bash
It's Party Time in Tampa. :capwin:
OK, I can't take credit for these ideas but I've discussed them with Rene and we have a go, even if Beverly might not be in shape to know it.
Beverly's birthday is the 16th of Feb, which also happens to be Presidents Day so we should be able to get a good crowd together in Tampa.

Anyone who would like to send Beverly a birthday card but won't be able to be in Tampa on the 16th can send them to me at:

Please put "Beverly" in the bottom left corner of the envelope so my wife and I know not to open it. Get them here by Sat. the 14th.
Scott offered to drop the cards off on the 15th when he would be in Tampa but I think it would be better to take a box full of card in to her on the 16th. Hope you don't mind Scott.
The next set of ideas comes from retraite (Tim) with some input from BrianH. Oops, I wasn't supposed to let that out. Just have to hope Tim isn't as heavily armed as Beverly.
I have told Rene we will be below Beverly's window at noon on the 16th to blip some throttles, sing happy birthday to her and wave pink flamingos. I'll video the whole thing just in case Beverly isn't in shape to look out the window. When we are done we'll send our signed flamingos up to her room for her. After that we can head out for lunch, which I'll also video for her.
Anyone who won't be able to attend but would like to give Beverly a birthday flamingo can send them to me at the above address. I just went to Amazon.com and they have a bunch of pink flamingo stuff if anyone wants to just order it and have it sent directly to me. Please make sure your name, real and board, are included somehow so Beverly will know who it is from. I'm planning to ride to this event but if I have too many flamingos to fit on the bike, I'll gladly take my car.
I'll get more details out on the actual meeting place but figure on some place on the Tampa General grounds at around 11:45 to get organized. I just wanted to get this out so that people could get cards and flamingos out in time for me to have them Sat.
Please let me know if you will be attending so I can start making a list. Plan on bringing a card and signed pink flamingo!

Wish I could make the ride but will see that I get a card in the mail this week.
Will be sending card/flamingo next week. What a great idea!
No card will make it in time from New Zealand. However Janet and I are praying for Bev every day.

I will try and make it. It would be a lot easier to come on Sunday rather than a Monday. Depends on work load.

I'm from Houston, but by coincidence, will be in Tampa Sunday - Tuesday next week. If I knew where this is, I'd come by to lend my moral support.
Where in Tampa are you staying? I might be in town have to check with the better half.....:joke:
I was planning on taking a run over there early in the week (been down with a bad cold for a few daze) to scout the area. Tampa General isn't real easy to find and/or get to. It's right downtown, but actually on Davis Island, via a small maze of 1-way streets and bridges. I'll see if I can find a place to meet up and/or have lunch. Off the top of my head, I'll likely look for somewhere back down Bayshore on Gandy, or somewhere close to that. I completely forgot to mention to you..., when you indicated earlier that you might come up here this weekend, I should have warned you..., this weekend is Gasparilla, and the parade today (Sat) goes right up Bayshore..., the way you get to Davis Island from the south ... :lol:
If I can get an idea of how many folks might be coming, it'll help finding a place for lunch afterwards.

A card is on it's way. I bought a new bike and am in the middle of transfering "stuff" from old to new. Not having a bike to ride when you own three is the pits.

I might suggest going over to Brandon for lunch it's not that far away and it has about every Restaurant you want even Sonny's BBQ or Hooters :lol:
it's also close to I-75 and crosstown for the ones going back home.
