Blinker Issue

I'm running a 2010 everything but airbag, It started when I turn the blinker on and the dash light stays on no blinking, stays on for about 5 seconds flickers and goes out. Both right and left are the same. That lasted about two hours, now nether dash light comes on, but when I turn blinker on the mirror light goes out until I cancel then comes back on. I'm thinking blinker relay or switch. Any suggestions? Any help will be very appreciated.

Ok, does everything else on the bike work correctly?

yes everything works, no other problems, runs pretty smooth

Ok, so, the cancel unit is working correctly, it makes the running light turn off on the side you activate. With the hazard function and turn signals both dead, my best guess is the flasher relay has died. Since everything else is working, the accessory circuit power is good that runs the flasher. The flasher relay is behind the gauges, hanging in a rubber mount on your model year. You should pull the gauges and inspect the flasher’s harness for a broken wire or a loose connection, but I think you’re going to need a new flasher relay,

Got one coming already, I went with all leds a while ago, so I've already changed that, But I prefer to take windshield off, it's easier for me, changed the windshield already too so been there done that. I want to thank you for your replies. I appreciate it.

Do you have a model with self canceling turn signals? Do you have LEDs in the turn signal bulbs? Do you have the stock flasher or an aftermarket flasher? Having LED bulbs with the stock flasher would cause those issues. If you have LED bulbs, try swapping them out to filament bulbs.

Yeah definitely in the turn relay. Turn signal or associated wiring.

Not yet, should get home today, tonight. Part coming on the 30th. I will for sure to let you know.

Although I gotta say, I washed it yesterday and when I turned the blinker on both right and left Light came on with mirror stayed solid for bout 5 seconds then flickered and went out. Maybe just a short some where.

If you still have the OEM flasher, you could stick it in and see if they flash fast like it should with LEDs. If it doesn’t flash, then maybe there’s another issue.

Right, Well new problem, trailer broke down 5 hours away from home, tung broke between cooler and trailer, when it rains it pours, I'll be going after that tomorrow

OK, Got blinkers again, the flasher broke off the bracket and must have banged on something, the insides of the flasher were loose.
