Bad Day Ride: First time in 5 tears this has happened.
While riding on NC 73 near Charlotte NC yesterday, road workers had sccrubbed off ashpalt and made febble attempt of cold patch ramp to existing roadway, hit it at 35mph. WOW.
Then one hour later in small town at 20mph I hit pothole that nearly consumed the front end of bike, and immediately smelled burnt greasy smell , immediately pulled over and greasy liquid was gushing from left tube , over caliper, and on to ground.
RESCUE PLUS to rescue and 100 mile tow on trailer home at 5:30m on a Saturday evening. FIRST time ever for this 2004 1800.
Question is: What is to be expected in this repair? Can this be repaired at home with regular tools or is this a major dealer repair? Any previous incident info would be appreciated. :?:
